Sometimes you just don't have or can't find the suggested ingredient. Most of the time I am too lazy to go to the supermarket (closest is 8 miles away!) I've just made a batch of cookie dough that called for light molasses....well, what the barnacle is light molasses? I had to google that one. I'm not going to find that here. So I made a head chef decision and used 1/3 molasses and 2/3 golden syrup. The dough looks good enough. It is chilling over night and hopefully this will not have ruined the cookie outcome too much.
