This was delicious. I added an extra carrot and stalk of celery prior to simmering the dumplings, and had the perfect broth, to crunch, to velvety dumplings ratio.

Love chicken and dumplings. I use a recipe from the Silver Palate Cookbook that is pretty similar. Strangely enough, Bisquick actually does give it a wonderful texture (if you make biscuits from the mix).

I am sorry your "experience" did not work out as well!

But still, your dumplings sound delicious :)

The first picture just screams "cozy winter meal"! It sounds fantastic. I have some boneless chicken thighs in the freezer... I might just use them & cornstarch, instead of buying more meat. The dumplings look especially tasty!

I've had my eye on this recipe for a while now, and hope to try it soon! Glad to hear it was good, and glad to know not to use drumettes!

I made this a few months ago, and you are right, the chicken wing thickener is pretty neat. Such a delicious and comforting meal.
